The historic rectory and tithe farm now embrace nine authentic farm cottages
We have two small animal barns with small animals.
One has little chairs and
a large low table where children can hold and watch the animals, older children can sit anywhere with an animal. This house has 8 animal pens.
Helpers give out animal
food and handfuls of hay.
The other barn has a large pen where children can sit
to watch and be with the animals. Feeding activities also in this room.
The hens lay eggs in three different places, probably more if we could find
where in the banks and hedges!
Our quails are in pens.
We feed the ducks and chickens when we let
them out in the mornings.

the animal rooms & by
the chicken houses.
Eight of our cottages are set in extensive mature gardens and grounds. (the 9th is a short step away through our cobbled yard). Proper houses, two are on the compact side at 42.6sq m, they offer good size attractive accommodation (up to 160 sq m) & are very well equipped.
Centrally heated, 3 have log stoves. All have dishwashers
6 have washing machines and tumble driers
4 have 6' super-king beds
5 have 5' king beds
We offer hands on animal care and feeding that extend to cuddles and cleaning pens, lots of fresh straw!
There are often kittens about.
We hatch chicks, quails and ducks.
Eggs are collected once a day,
Everyone is involved in letting the birds out and putting them to bed.
Lots of learning & inspiration, with amazing responses from children.
Beds prepared ready for your arrival with bath and hand towels.
Full-size cots, loo seats, steps & nursery equipment freely available.
Basics include: dishwasher and laundry tablets etc, spare loo rolls in each bathroom, cleaning cloths, sponges, washing up needs and so forth. The cottage will be warm and cosy ready for your arrival.

The walled swimming pool area is an outdoor suntrap, it is available as long as is feasible, this generally means towards May half term through to mid September.
We have a play room with murals, comfy sofas and chairs.
Games room has pool, table tennis, air hockey and table football.
Quiet room/private office space has toys, games local information etc.
Fast wifi in all cottages, quiet room/office and around the gardens.
Laundry room with detergents etc
Public freezer with shop bought family food available at cost.
Walled outdoor swimming and splash pool.
The animal houses are near the rewilded grass meadow.
The gardens and rewilded grass meadow are surrounded by fields.
with amazing views over the wooded Torridge valley, farmland to Exmoor.
Garden is great for hide and seek, football and other ball games, also for races, egg and spoon races, especially when the white rabbit visits, barbecues, picnics, bird watching, play swing ball and for toddler play.
Locally are good attractions, pubs, local good food, independent shops, cafes, cycling, walking, and sandy beaches.
A fantastic holistic therapist, Tarka Pottery, Village Hall skittles in the village.
We overlook RHS Rosemoor Gardens,a few minutes drive, as is Dartington Crystal and historic Great Torrington
Children have fun whatever the weather; puddles for splashing, grassy banks are better for rolling down when wet!

We have much to suit wedding parties having hosted them to great acclaim. The setting of the cottages around a large green makes them and our gardens a very special setting for celebrations.
